The Blues on Tap organised Benefit Gig, held in The Grampian Hotel, Perth, on the 17th of March 2006 to raise funds for Heather Hird, the young 15 year old Perthshire schoolgirl permanently paralysed as a result of a serious motoring accident, was very successful with £546.00 being raised on the night. Joe Irvine, Blues on Tap’s Drummer and Gig Organiser also revealed that , as a result of a truly magnificent gesture by a member of the public the funds raised on the night had been hugely boosted by the donation of a motorised wheelchair.
The wheelchair is currently being assesed by Occupational Therapy Specialists, with a view to advising on any alteration required to meet Heathers needs.
A cheque for £546.00 was handed over to Heather’s family at Blues on Tap’s gig at Dexter’s, in Dundee, on Saturday 25th March..
